Volunteering at IAASA

IASSA is seeking volunteers to help with meeting its mission and values.
Why volunteer for IAASA?

Volunteering for IAASA will give you the chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the people around you. It will also give you the opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Whatever your reason to volunteer, you will find working as a volunteer for IAASA brings many opportunities to build new relationships and to have a rich role that is both challenging and rewarding.

Areas you can volunteer to support IAASA include:
  • Volunteer at the annual Mela
  • Selling tickets
  • Serving on stalls – drinks and food
  • Providing or assisting with entertainment activities
  • Work in the Kids corner
  • Assist at the IAASA booth
  • Help with our cultural display
  • Leaflet dropping
  • Marketing of IAASA events and programs – preparation of flyers and publicity materials including for social media
  • Help with preparation of regular Newsletter preparation and articles
  • Teach English to help with IELTS and other English exam preparation, assist with conversational English
  • Teach regional Indian languages
  • Assist with craft activities including sewing, knitting and crochet
  • Manage or assist with Public Announcement systems
  • Assist with encouraging gardening and sustainable living among members
  • Assist with administrative work at the IAASACC – respond to queries, collect fees, prepare minutes and briefing papers for the IAASA committee
  • Assist with grant applications
  • Membership drive and negotiate discounts for members
  • Help with simple accounting and bookkeeping under supervision
  • Catering liaison
  • Archival expert, historian - for recording IAASA history
  • Meet and Greet new Migrants
